Can Tarot Predict the Future?

Tarot can show where things may be heading. That doesn't mean your future is already written.

Sometimes.

Sort of.

That's probably less dramatic than you were hoping for.

Tarot can absolutely be used to explore where a situation appears to be heading.

But I don't think of the future as a finished movie sitting somewhere waiting for us to spoil the ending.

People make decisions.

Circumstances change.

Information appears.

Someone sends the text.

Someone doesn't.

You change your mind.

They change theirs.

Life moves.

Tarot can show momentum

Imagine asking about a relationship.

The cards show emotional distance, unresolved conflict and someone refusing to communicate.

That doesn't mean the universe has issued a legally binding decree that the relationship must fail.

It means:

This is the direction the situation currently appears to be moving.

That's useful.

Because direction gives you information.

Prediction is different from certainty

Weather forecasts predict the future too.

You still bring an umbrella rather than assuming the clouds have entered into a contract.

Tarot can work similarly.

A reading can show possibilities, patterns, pressures and likely developments.

What you do with that information still matters.

Sometimes the better question isn't “What will happen?”

It's:

What happens if nothing changes?

Or:

What can I do differently?

Or:

What am I overlooking?

Those questions put you back inside your own life.

That's where I prefer tarot to live.

Not above you.

Not deciding for you.

Beside you.

A deck of cards, a question, and another way of seeing what's already unfolding.

Your future still belongs to you.
